Camping at the Historic Daniel Lady Farm is the perfect way to experience history firsthand. Not only are there ample experiences to be had in town, but there are often reenactors marching across a field or cavalry riding through the woods. In addition to allowing limited camping during Event Weekends, we will have historians on the property most weekends who are eager to interact with the youth as much or as little as each group would like. The Daniel Lady Farm is a working farm staffed by Farm workers and volunteers. We always need willing hands. The Farm is a historic site, so work on the farm can be used as a service project and/or conservation work. We also qualify for the Historic Trails Award Program through the BSA.
Civil War Reenactment Units may camp on the farm at group rates. Units that interact with visitors as part of the GBPA Living History Program may have fees waived with prior arrangement.
We are especially open to persons doing medical, embalming, Sanitary Commission, cooking, and musical presentations. Units may consider a “School of the Soldier” weekend.
The only requirement is presenting a living history and mingling with farm visitors at times during the weekend.
