The crack of musket fire…boom of artillery… the smell of woodsmoke drifting through the air… the hurried shouts of soldiers on the field. This September, step onto the hallowed ground of the Daniel Lady Farm and be transported to the 1860s. For one unforgettable weekend, history won’t just be told—it will be lived. Watch as a fully immersive Civil War Skirmish unfolds mere feet in front of you.
Stroll among authentic military camps, where Union and Confederate reenactors drill, cook over open fires, and prepare for battle. Listen to the clank of tin cups, the creak of leather gear, and the low murmur of men writing letters home. Every detail is true to the era—because here, it’s not a performance, it’s a passage through time.
Walk inside the farmhouse and barn where the aftermath of battle still echoes. A Civil War Field Hospital, crowded with the wounded and the dying. Witness gripping medical demonstrations—surgeons working with the tools, methods, and urgency of the time. See the bone saws, bandages, and surgical tables as they would have been used 160+ years ago. Hear the stories of the men who passed through this place… and those who never left.
This is not just a site visit. This is a full immersion into the sights, sounds, and emotions of one of America’s defining moments—right where it happened; The Historic Daniel Lady Farm – Where History Comes Alive
Saturday, September 20 at 8pm, come back to the farm for a Candlelight Hospital Tour of the Farmhouse and Barn. Join one of the Daniel Lady Farm’s Historical Interpreters as they guide you back in time to see the medical aftermath of the Civil War. See the barn as it would have looked while being used to treat the wounded and hear stories about the toll the battle took on the civilian populus. This immersive tour will show you the “Aftermath of Engagement” as you’ve never seen it before.
